New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party leader Ananth Kumar on Saturday sent a legal notice to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal after he named him in the list of corrupt politicians. This comes after former BJP chief Nitin Gadkari on Friday sent a defamation notice to the Delhi Chief Minister claiming that the allegations were baseless.
Gadkari had hit back strongly at the Aam Aadmi Party leader for calling him 'corrupt'and had asked him to apologise within three days. The BJP leader had also warned Kejriwal that if he didn't apologise then he will sue him.
Leaders across political divide launched an all out attack against Kejriwal after he read out names of what he claimed was a list of India's "most corrupt" leaders and should be defeated in the upcoming 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
Earlier in the day, Union Minister Kapil Sibal also lashed out at Kejriwal for calling him corrupt and said that he will quit politics if the allegations against him were proved correct.
The other leaders who criticised Kejriwal's controversial remarks are National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah and Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi.
