New Delhi: After Mumbai, an FIR has now been filed against Aam Aadmi Party volunteers in Gujarat's Kutch for not paying toll tax during Gujarat visit. The FIR has been filed at the Samakhyali police station in Kutch on Thursday for not paying toll taxes after a complaint was registered by the attendant of the Samakhyali toll booth.
This came on a day when another FIR was registered against AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal and his party members by the Mumbai Police for the chaos that ensued upon his visit to the city. The FIR was filed at the airport police station under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code for disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant.
Kejriwal's visit to Mumbai had disrupted traffic when he travelled in an auto-rickshaw and boarded a local train. AAP members had reportedly damaged metal detectors at the Churchgate station as soon as Kejriwal entered the station. While many commuters complained of inconvenience, AAP workers said that the metal workers were not working.
But AAP member Mayank Gandhi said that the party didn't invite the media. He tweeted, "We did not invite. As soon as AK came, climbed into autos and left. No unlawful assembly. Vindictive and afraid after yesterday (Wednesday)."
Not just this, the Mumbai Police on Wednesday even fined the driver of the autorickshaw, which ferried Kejriwal to suburban Andheri railway station from airport, for violation of the Motor Vehicle Act by carrying more than three passengers. After landing in Mumbai, Kejriwal had boarded the autorickshaw to travel a five-km distance to the railway station from where he took a local train to reach Churchgate railway station in South Mumbai. Additional Commissioner of Police Quaiser Khalid said the auto driver was fined for carrying more than three passengers in the vehicle.
Meanwhile, the former Delhi chief minister on Thursday denied that the people who created ruckus at the Churchgate were AAP workers. He also hit out at the media for projecting AAP in a bad light.
