Scores of SP workers had climbed the dais and created unruly scenes after Akhilesh's swearing-in ceremony was over.
Lucknow: Acting tough against indiscipline, the Samajwadi Party on Friday expelled 12 party workers for creating ruckus during the oath-taking ceremony of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav.
According to Samajwadi Party spokesperson Rajendra Chowdhury, the party took note of the incident at La Martiniere ground, where scores of workers climbed the dais and created unruly scenes after the ceremony was over.
He said that on the directions of Akhilesh Yadav, SP suspended 12 party workers belonging to Agra, Etawah, Sultanpur, Meerut and Ghaziabad.
Unlike the Mayawati regime's functions, the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected SP legislators was marked with chaos despite Akhilesh trying to discipline party workers.
