Andhra CM warns Centre of more trouble due to Telangana formation
Kiran Reddy said there will be water and power sharing problems between the two states.

Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy has cautioned the Centre that bifurcating the state and creating Telangana could lead to more trouble. He issued the warning at his first media interaction after the Congress Working Committee endorsed the decision to create Telangana.

The Chief Minister claimed that Telangana would face several hurdles if the new state was formed. He said, "There will be water and power sharing problems between the two states."

He admitted to signing a resolution along with legislators of Seemandhra region against the formation of a separate state. The resolution has been submitted to the Congress high command.

But the Chief Minister also requested employees of Seemandhra not to indulge in violence.

He said that all stakeholders who have concerns about bifurcation of the state may voice their views to a four-member committee headed by Defence Minister AK Antony.

"The problem will be solved by a solution. It should not create a bigger problem. This is my request to the Central government and the committee. Before any decision is taken, these concerns have to be addressed," he had said.

The issue of Telangana has also rocked the Monsoon Session as Parliament has been marred by repeated adjournments because of the demands of Seemandhara MPs for a united Andhra.
