Delhi: After emerging as the second largest party in Jammu and Kashmir, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is eyeing an alliance with the National Conference (NC). The PDP and the Congress are in a position to form an alliance to form the next government.
BJP president Amit Shah, while addressing the media at the party's headquarters in New Delhi, said his party was open to the three options of supporting a party, receiving support from a party or being a part of a government in Jammu and Kashmir. "The decision about government formation will be taken in the party's Parliamentary Board meeting on Wednesday," said Shah.
Jammu & Kashmir People's Democratic Party president Mehbooba Mufti said the party was going to explore all its options and then come to a conclusion.
Congress leader Mukul Kesavan said senior party leader Ghulam Nabi Azad had made it clear that it was for the PDP to decide who they wanted to form a government with. "We have had an alliance with PDP earlier. We are open to the idea. Now, it is for PDP to come to us," said Kesavan.
