New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday asked its members of Parliament (MPs) to remain present all day long in both the Houses for passage of crucial bills.
The directive comes as the Land Acquisition Bill is slated to come up in Lok Sabha while the Coal and Mines Bill will be discussed and voted in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu met the leaders of the with NDA allies on Land Acquisition Bill. Shiv Sena, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Akali leaders were present in the meeting.
Sources said the allies are on board. "They are satisfied with the amendments moved by the government and so they will now vote in favour of the Land Acquisition Bill," they said.
Naidu spoke to Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray on phone and appraised him about the amendments, the sources said.
