Trouble is growing for Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) high command has taken a feedback from top bureaucrats in the state about the Gujarat CM. The feedback was taken at insistence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party chief Amit Shah by party General Secretary Om Mathur.
Sources within BJP said it is likely that Patel may be replaced before 2017 Assembly elections.
According to sources, there was an adverse report against Anandiben's performance by Om Mathur who was sent by Amit Shah to look into the growing disgruntlement in the state unit of the party.
Her failure to handle the Patel agitations and Congress' victory in the local bodies polls in the rural areas added to the poor show for which she can now be shown the door.
Anandiben could be made the Governor of a state while Nitinbhai Patel would replace her as CM of Gujarat. Nitinbhai Patel is currently Health, Medical Education, Family Welfare, Road and Building, Capital Project Minister in the Gujarat government.
