In the run-up to the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will be holding pan-India workshops to prepare its party leaders. As part of the workshop, a senior leader, including a minister, will train leaders on various issues.
The agenda of the party, contemporary issues, the work done by the central government over the last 10 years and Central government schemes will be among the issues on which the state leaders, especially state spokespersons, will be briefed. The Lok Sabha convenor and co-convenor will also be part of this workshop.
A workshop by party national spokesperson RP Singh is currently in progress in Punjab. Earlier a workshop was conducted for Maharashtra by national spokesperson Prem Shukla. “It is important for the party to speak in one voice. We need to make sure our party agenda is known to everyone and everybody is on the same page in the run-up to the big elections,” a source told CNN-News18.
On Tuesday, Union Minister Hardeep Puri will hold a similar workshop in Bengaluru for Karnataka leaders and Smriti Irani will be in Patna to hold a workshop for Bihar.
“This is a party whose government has worked for every strata of society. Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas Sabka Vishwas & Sabka Prayas has been our mantra. This needs to be further highlighted. That’s why a media training is vital,” another source said.
The party aims to complete these workshops in the next fortnight. The BJP is preparing itself for the big battle of 2024, after a two-day session with national office-bearers and state leaders addressed by both Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP president JP Nadda and Union minister Amit Shah a couple of weeks ago. The party has also formed a number of committees including a committee to reach out to youth and women and another committee to finalise the joinings in the party.
