Chennai: Former Tamil Nadu chief minister M Karunanidhi blamed the Central government for being slow and asked it to take a decision on the Mullaperiyar dam controversy before it was too late.
"Centre which is slow in decision making should expedite before blood spills," said Karunanidhi.
Speaking after a day-long fast by the DMK across Tamil Nadu, Karunanidhi accused Kerala of plotting to make the state a desert.
"We will not accept it. All those who want India to be united should understand who is cheating," he said.
He further refuted the claims by Kerala, saying the Mullaperiyar dam was very strong.
Referring to a film based on dam, that was released recently and banned in Tamil Nadu, Karunanidhi said, "Sad a film director uses his talent to develop enmity between two states."
