New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party released its first list of candidates for the Delhi Assembly elections with controversial former law minister Somnath Bharti's name figuring in it.
Besides Bharti, three other former ministers Saurabh Bhardwaj, Satyendra Jain and Girish Soni have been fielded again.
Somnath Bharti was embroiled in an escalating controversy over his 'midnight raid' and faced demands for his resignation in 2013.
Of the total 22 candidates, 12 are sitting MLAs including the four former ministers.
While 12 candidates who won will be fielded from their respective constituencies, the remaining 10 who came "close second" have been retained, said a party leader.
The names of AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal, his confidante Manish Sisodia and former social welfare minster Rakhi Birla did not figure in the first list.
