It will be the result of these 25 seats that will determine the winner of the 2015 Delhi Assembly elections.

New Delhi: Even as the focus is on high profile constituencies like New Delhi and Krishna Nagar in the battle for Delhi, there are 25 seats where the victory margin was less than 5000 votes in the 2013 elections indicating a close contest.

It will be the result of these 25 seats that will determine the winner of the 2015 Delhi Assembly elections.

While the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won 11 seats each, the Congress was victorious in two and Janata Dal United in one. Shoaib Iqbal, who had won Matia Mahal in 2013 as a JDU candidate, is now with the Congress and contesting from the same seat.

Out of these 25 seats, five seats were decided with less than 1000 votes. BJP's Anil Kumar Sharma had won RK Puram seat defeating the then AAP candidate Shazia Ilmi Malik by just 326 votes. Shazia is now with the BJP.

Apart from RK Puram, the other seats where the victory margin in 2013 elections was less than 1,000 votes were Sadar Bazar, Vikaspuri, Delhi Cantt and Sangam Vihar.

The eight seats where victory margin was between 1,001 and 2,000 votes were Sultanpur Majra, Rohini, Karol Bagh, Madi Pur, Rajinder Nagar, Jangpura, Gokal Pur and Mustafabad.

In six seats the winner had a lead of 2001-3000 votes. These seats were Trinagar, Matia Mahal, Tilak Nagar, Janakpuri, Bijwasan and Kalkaji. Five seats- Timarpur, Matiala,

Kasturba Nagar, Mehrauli and Mehrauli- saw a victory margin of 3000 to 5000 votes.
