New Delhi: Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh blamed Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi for the suicide of Gajendra Singh, a farmer from Rajasthan's Dausa district. While speaking on the tragic incident in the Lok Sabha on Thursday, Singh accused AAP supporters at the party's rally of instigating and provoking the farmer to end his life.

"According to Delhi Police report, a Dausa resident Gajendra Singh climbed on tree and wrapped a cloth around his neck with the other end tied to a branch.

Police immediately informed per and called for a fire brigade vehicle with long stairs. Police also requested the people standing below to not clap and shout slogans so that Gajendra Singh was not agitated further," said Singh.

"In such a situation we usually engage the victim in conversation so that he is deterred from taking extreme step but in this case crowd continued to provoke by clapping and shouting. Why the death happened is being investigated. Some people climbed the tree and opened the cloth with which Gajendra was tied. He fell down. He was taken to RML hospital in a police van where he was declared dead," added the Home Minister during a heated debate on the issue in Lok Sabha
