38. Deori is a state Assembly/Vidhan Sabha constituency in the state of Madhya Pradesh and is part of Damoh Lok Sabha/Parliamentary constituency. Deori falls in Sagar district and Vindhya Pradesh region of Madhya Pradesh. It is categorised as a rural seat.

There are a total of 1,97,362 voters in the seat, which includes 1,04,635 male voters, and 92,724 female voters. In the 2018 Madhya Pradesh elections, Deori recorded a voter turnout of 74.39%. In 2013 the turnout was 72.53%, and in 2008 it was 69.57%.

In 2013, Harsh Yadav of INC won the seat by a margin of 22,080 votes (16.13%). Harsh Yadav secured 52% of the total votes polled.

BJP won this seat in the 2008 Assembly elections with a margin of 11,505 votes (10.8%), registering 38.31% of the total votes polled.
