DMK scores a blank, blames Jayalalithaa for its rout

Chennai: A bitter DMK on Saturday blamed rival AIADMK for its complete rout in Tamil Nadu in the Lok Sabha elections. "The money power has suppressed the democracy. The democracy will rise and win again," senior DMK leader TR Baalu said. He added, "I brought many schemes which helped in the development of Tamil Nadu but I lost only because of the money power (of the AIADMK)."

Baalu, however, admitted that if internal rift was a reason for the party's defeat, "it will be rectified".

He added, "The people of India wanted change. They have changed the establishment. We hope (Narendra) Modi will do his best for the country."
