Guj Cong leaders to meet PM over cotton export ban

Vadodara: A delegation of Congress leaders from Gujarat, headed by Ahmed Patel, will meet the Prime Minister on Wednesday, seeking withdrawal of ban on the export of cotton.

Senior Congress leader Shankersinh Vaghela told on Tuesday evening that the delegation will include state Congress chief Arjun Modhwadia and Siddharth Patel too.

"The delegation will put emphasis on immediate lifting of the ban, as it would ruin the farmers in the state," he said.

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi too has taken objection to the ban on export.

Earlier in the day, the Centre announced that the decision had been referred to a Group of Ministers for a review.
