Madhavi Latha, Bharatiya Janata Party’s candidate from Hyderabad- recently lashed out at her Lok Sabha election rival and AIMIM Chief Asadduddin Owaisi over his claims to have received death threats for visiting late Mukhtar Ansari’s home and claimed that he is friends with ISIS and Kings’ Group.
Mocking the Hyderabad MP for his claim, the BJP leader said, “How is Asaduddin Owaisi receiving death threats? Is someone physically attacking him or pelting stones at him? As of now, these threats are only being made on social media platforms. However, those who are close to Asaduddin Owaisi may be the ones making these threats. It’s important to note that people who attack others are often the ones who require security measures themselves.”

Latha also alleged that someone might ask why Owaisi requires security in the first place when he maintains a friendship with criminals and gangsters like Mukhtar Ansari, ISIS and the Kings’ group of Hyderabad.
The BJP leader’s remarks came after Owaisi claimed that he received threatening social media posts after he met family members of gangster-politician Mukhtar Ansari, who died recently in jail.
The AIMIM leader had visited Ansari’s Ghazipur home in Uttar Pradesh to offer condolences to his family. Ansari died of cardiac arrest at a hospital in UP’s Banda on March 28.
Owaisi also said he was hoping that the Election Commission was monitoring the threatening social media posts reportedly made against him after the visit.
“The atmosphere created in the country is giving them strength to say such things. Those who are openly making such threats, we hope that the Election Commission monitors that and sees,” Owaisi said while addressing the media.
BJP’s Madhavi Latha Gets ‘Y Plus’ Security
Meanwhile, the Centre provided VIP security cover of armed commandos to Madhavi Latha given potential security threats against her, official sources said on Monday.
The 49-year-old politician has been granted the mid-level ‘Y plus’ category mobile security cover during her stay and visits in Telangana.
A threat perception report prepared by central intelligence and security agencies recommended a security cover for Latha following which the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) sanctioned the protection, the sources said.
A squad of four armed personnel will be with Latha round-the-clock under the ‘Y plus’ security protocol.
