New Delhi: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, who is busy trying to calm the political turmoil in the state over the pulling out troops from the Valley, says he has never cared about politicking.
Addressing a public meeting at Langate in Handwara area of Kupwara district in J&K, Azad was quoted by news agency PTI as saying: “I don't drink. I have a simple lifestyle and never lied in my life. I don't lie and just hate telling lies. I don't care whether the people will vote for me tomorrow or not. I just want development and welfare of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.”
Azad, who has made up his mind and is not about to buckle before the PDP calling for troop pull out from the Valley, added, “I believe in honest politics and abhor deceitful tactics to lure voters. My only mission as the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir is to rebuild the state fast and seek peace and prosperity for its people.”
The Chief Minister said his sole target was to bring back the lost glory of the strife torn state and make it a model state in every field of development and create peace for faster economic growth.
The coalition in J&K is hanging by a thread with both Congress and PDP unrelenting in their stands regarding PDP's demand for demilitarisation.
