Jagan Faces Criticism for 'U' Turn on Capital Issue, TDP Alleges Drama
The TDP leader criticized Jagan's proposal of three capitals, with YSRCP leader YV Subba Reddy suggesting the continuation of Hyderabad as the combined capital for five more years

Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy is under fire from TDP National General Secretary Nara Lokesh for what Lokesh claims to be a complete turnaround on the capital city issue. Lokesh accused Jagan of playing a political game, highlighting the Chief Minister’s earlier support for Amaravathi while in opposition.

While addressing a public meeting as part of his ‘Sankharavam’ program, Lokesh emphasized on Jagan’s prior statements about the need for at least 30,000 acres for the capital city and his commitment to building his own house in Amaravathi. However, after assuming power, Lokesh alleges Jagan has taken a ‘U’ turn.

The TDP leader criticized Jagan’s proposal of three capitals, with YSRCP leader YV Subba Reddy suggesting the continuation of Hyderabad as the combined capital for five more years. Lokesh expressed bewilderment at the contradictory statements, accusing the ruling party of neglecting the existing capital while advocating for the retention of Hyderabad.

Taking a dig at Jagan’s recent call for a political war, Lokesh warned that the TDP wouldn’t remain silent. He challenged the YSRCP, stating that if they fold their shirts for a fight, TDP is ready to fold chairs, suggesting a head-to-head between party activists.

Lokesh also commented on the controversy surrounding the film ‘Rajadhani Files,’ suggesting that Jagan’s unease might be linked to the movie. He accused the YSRCP of deploying police at theaters showing the film, indicating fear among party leaders.

Criticizing the YSRCP’s stance on liquor sales, Lokesh claimed that the government is profiting from spurious liquor while innocent lives are lost. He also accused Jagan of breaking promises on prohibition and failing to implement job-related commitments.

Closing his address, Lokesh promised better technology for housing and comprehensive development for North Andhra if the TDP-Jana Sena alliance secures victory in the next elections.
