Terming the 100-day of Mufti Mohmmad Sayeed government a "success", Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh on Monday said the J&K government was "setting the stage right" for good governance during the period even as the state is battling with empty treasuries.

Jammu: Terming the 100-day of Mufti Mohmmad Sayeed government a "success", Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh on Monday said the J&K government was "setting the stage right" for good governance during the period even as the state is battling with empty treasuries.

"The 100 days of our rule was setting the stage right for ensuring good governance. There were some controversial issues which impacted the governance, but we resolved all the issues and these 100 days I can firmly say was successful," Singh said on Jammu at a conference on the completion of 100 days of government on Monday.

Asserting that BJP-PDP government had inherited a mess created by Omar Abdullah-led government in the state, Deputy CM said, "It is June now, but our treasuries are empty. We do not have money."

Castigating the previous Omar government for the mess, he said, "The utilization certificates which has been sort by the central government, has not been given so far - in MGNREGA SSA and other sectors".

"In SSA (Sarva Shiksha Abhiyaan) salaries have not been given for last 8-9 months, they have created mess. Same is case with Rehbar-e-Taleem (ReT). There was no provisions have been made from these sectors for the future", he said.

Depty CM said that they created administrative units but did not keep provisions of funds for them. New schools were declared but no funds were kept for them.

"We have got this mess. And we have honestly tried to correct this mess", he said, adding "We have started setting this platform for good governance". They (previous NC-Congress government) had done mess with the budget and now we are trying to correct it, he said, adding that in January 2016 we expect the funds to come from the Centre as the talks are on.

On the government formation, he said that people never thought that BJP will be in the formation of the government.

"It was after a well thought out decision by the central leadership led by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to form the government after two months long dialogue with PDP", he said, adding that it was not coalition of ideologies but coalition based on a common agenda of development.
