Kalam to visit Uttar Pradesh on May 2

New Delhi: As polling for one of the most fiercely-fought electoral battles gains steam, Home Department officials on Tuesday announced that President A P J Abdul Kalam will be on a one-day visit to Uttar Pradesh on May 2.

During the visit, he will attend various programmes in Kushinagar and Pratapgarh districts.

In Kushinagar, Kalam is scheduled to attend a programme to mark the 2500^th birth anniversary of Lord Buddha. He will also inaugurate a Thai polyclinic there.

The President would participate in an event related to the Integrated Rural Development Programme (IRDP) in Raniganj area of Pratapgarh district.
