New Delhi: Former Uttar Pradesh chief minister and BJP leader Kalyan Singh rubbished claims of the Liberhan Commission report on his role in the Babri Masjid demolition case on Tuesday.

He said that he had provided full security on the day of the demolition.

"My government provided full security on December 6, 1992. There was explicit orders to security forces not to allow any Karsevsaks in the disputed area," he said.

"I had only asked the security apparatus not to open fire at the Karsevaks," he added.

RSS Spokesperson Ram Madhav said the Babri demolition was an outpouring of people's sentiment.

“We had organized that movement, we had organised that gathering on that day, but the people's sentiment was so strong that the incident occurred. Another report called the Baheri Tribunal has categorically said that there was no involvement of any organisation in this incident.”

Meanwhile, Uma Bharti while talking to CNN-IBN said, "I have not seen the report so how will I know the charges. It is the total moral responsibility of the people there."

The demolition of the Babri Masjid on December 6, 1992 ignited nationwide communal riots and left nearly 3,000 people dead.

Ten days after the incident, the PV Narasimha Rao government set up a Commission headed by Justice MS Liberhan to probe into the demolition.

The Commission was then asked to complete the probe as soon as possible, however, it took 17 years to submit the report.

The hearing in the case began in March 1993 and the Liberhan Commission submitted its report in June this year.
