Let's celebrate this dance of democracy
Democracy has shown what kind of leveler it is.

New Delhi: Tuesday, 10th February 2015 , around 8.30 AM in the morning. AAP head office at Patel Nagar, Delhi. All set for the big day for Delhi results. Exit polls had already set the mood and tone for what was about to come. No wonders AAP volunteers were busy decorating the office and the courtyard with balloons and all area carpeted. With AAP volunteers gathering in numbers and the AAP 'topi' visible almost everywhere. A small group of youngsters was just busy with their dance. One of the TV correspondent posted there called one of the dancing youngster. Without stopping his well-choreographed and rehearsed steps, he comes forward to answer the question. The correspondent asked, what you are doing is "Kejriwal Dance", right? The youngster immediately replied - No this is DOD sir. DOD? What's that? That is the Dance Of Democracy. We have been doing all along, cheering - 5 Saal Kejriwal.

Yes, that is the dance of democracy which not only Delhi but the whole nation witnessed. Democracy in its fullest and loudest form. The churn that is required. Power of peoples verdict to which everyone needs to bow down to. Democracy has shown what kind of leveler it is. This same democracy allowed a 'Chaiwala' to become the prime minister of India and the same democracy has given the opportunity to this AAM Admi to become CM for the second time, this time with a mandate and margin nobody could have ever imagined. What an IITian startup he created this - Aam Admi Party!!

Well, while we all must clap, pat and celebrate this victory and enjoy the dance of democracy, we must not take our eye away from some of the hard facts. BJP got almost the same percentage vote that it got in December 2013. So no committed BJP voter shifted since then. Yes, the voter base increased during Lok Sabha elections for BJP, it was 44 per cent. This is the same floating voter who decisively wanted to see Mr. Narendra Modi as prime minister and they just did it. It was 7-0 clean sweep for BJP. The same voter was again very decisive about seeing Kejriwal as the Chief Minister and they have done it again. The biggest loser is, off course Congress whose committed voter has now converted into a floating vote. This same voter has kept congress and Shiela Dixit in power for 15 years. These voters now do not go by party diktats. This is floating and mature vote. To woo this voter is the biggest challenge as they have shown what they can do - 67 - 03, in favor of someone who was written off in May 2014.

This sheer power of democracy needs to be cheered and danced along. The voter is getting mature every day. I still remember what one auto driver Uttam Singh, who is from Bihar but is a Delhi resident for past 10 years now told me in December 2013 - Sahab desh ke liye Modi aur Dilli ke liye Kejriwal jaroori hai (Modi is good for the nation and Kejriwal is much needed for Delhi). Now all those who had similar thoughts have actually made this dream a reality. Hope we have the 'Achchey Din' for India and Delhi both. Today, let the democracy dance. to the music and rhythm of - 5 Saal Kejriwal.
