bhagwatIn the backdrop of the rumours about discord between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its ideological mentor Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat who is on a five-day visit to Uttar Pradesh’s Gorakhpur directed volunteers of the organisation to make sure they reach out to each and every village by 2025.
Bhagwat who is also expected to meet UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath, gave a call to launch a drive in the state to make the masses, especially youths, aware of the selfless contributions of the RSS towards nation-building.
“Bhagwat ji’s visit is a routine one. He was invited to the ongoing RSS event in order to motivate the volunteers. It has nothing to do with politics,” a source said.
Bhagwat’s visit to Gorakhpur, Adityanath’s home turf, and talks of the meeting following the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, which the Bharatiya Janata Party-led alliance won but with a reduced mandate, stirred up rumours of a rift between the RSS and BJP.
“As we are about to enter 2025, the year that will be marked as a centenary year for the RSS, it’s time to do something big. And hence, the volunteers should make sure that by 2025, RSS reaches out to every UP village, which is also important in order to maintain Indian culture and its values,” said Bhagwat while addressing volunteers during an ongoing RSS event at SVM Public School in Gorakhpur.
The RSS chief in his address at the event, in which more than 250 volunteers from across the state participated, also boosted their morale. He told them to make the masses aware of RSS’s ideology and its motto which aims to keep Indian culture and values intact.
“Be careful of those who create a negative image of the Sangh. While making the masses aware of the contributions of RSS, you should highlight how during the Covid period, the volunteers of the Sangh helped the victims and their families without caring for their lives. In case of any crisis in the nation, it’s the volunteers of RSS who face it bravely but there are some people who try to create a negative image of the Sangh in society. You should maintain distance from such people and tell the masses about our work in order to nullify the negative image,” said Bhagwat.
