Mumbai: There was an uproar in the Maharashtra Assembly for the third consecutive day as the Opposition demanded Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar's resignation over his controversial 'urine' comment. The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena has hit the streets of Mumbai in protest urging Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan to sack Ajit Pawar.
On Tuesday, the Maharashtra Speaker had rejected the Opposition's demand for a censure motion against Ajit Pawar. Meanwhile, a urinal in Jalna has been named after Ajit Pawar. A poster with Ajit's photograph was pasted there following which some activists named it after the politician.
This comes days after Ajit, while referring to a farmer on a hunger fast demanding water be released in dams, said that the only way of releasing water in dams would be to urinate in them. The remarks drew sharp reactions from several parties.
