Hyderabad: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi's brother Akbaruddin has mocked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for changing his clothes often and trying hard to impress US President Barack Obama during the latter's visit to India on Republic Day.
Ridiculing Modi, Akbaruddin said, "He (Modi) changed his dress four times in a day while Obama wore just one suit. He wore a Rs 10-lakh suit."
On Modi-Obama bonhomie, the AIMIM floor leader in Telangana Assembly said, "He (Modi) broke the protocol to receive Obama at the airport. He tried to show that he is very close friends with him by tapping his back. He himself served tea to Obama. But while going back to the US, Obama gave him lecture on Article 25 (of Indian Constitution on Right to Freedom of Religion)."
Akbaruddin alleged that after getting power, Modi does not know how to rule. He criticised Modi also for gifting a copy of 'Bhagwad Gita' to Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe during his visit there, saying that if Modi is secular he should have presented a book on Indian Constitution.
He also called RSS a club of bachelors and said those who advocate producing more children have no right to say so as they themselves are not married. Owaisi asked all Muslims to be united while maintaining that his party would fight against "communal politics".
Without naming Bharatiya Janata Party leader Sakshi Maharaj, who had said recently that every Hindu woman must produce four children to protect the religion, Akbaruddin said they should explain if there are sufficient resources to support the children in terms of providing them education and jobs.
"RSS pracharaks would never marry. This is not RSS but a club of bachelors. They would never marry and (never) ready to take responsibilities, never face problem of life, never face problem of wife and children but advice others to produce four children," he said at a meeting on the 57th formation day of the AIMIM at its headquarters in Darulsalaam, Hyderabad.
"RSS says to produce four children in one family. If citizens are ready to produce not just four but 12 or 14, can you provide education, jobs, house and other facilities...They don't give jobs or education, they cannot even provide toilets, but they ask to produce four children," alleged Akbaruddin.
He said that the country was passing though sensitive times.
"All Muslims should unite to fight for their rights. If they are not united, there is a probability that the identity of Muslims will be in danger," he warned.
Akbaruddin also said that his party was ready to spread its wings to other states like West Bengal, Bihar and Karnataka.
"MIM will work for the uplift of Dalits and fight for their rights," he said.
