New Delhi: Gujarat Chief Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi has sought action against Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde on his comments on the arrest of youth from the minority communities. Modi has written a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh ashing him to act against Shinde.
Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde had on Friday said that he has asked all state Chief Ministers to be careful while arresting youth from the minority communities.
Shinde also said that he is looking at appointing a screening committee in all states. Shinde said that the committee will be set up along the lines of the Prevention of Terrorism Act.
"We have written to all state CMs that they have to be careful while arresting the youth from the minority communities. Minority does not mean one particular community. If they are not involved, they should be released immediately," Shinde said.
