Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Shahnawaz Hussain on Friday took on Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, accusing him of ditching the former alliance partner. Addressing the gathering at IBN Dialogue Bihar 2.0 in Patna, Hussain further alleged that Nitish Kumar failed to honour the mandate by breaking the alliance with the BJP.
"Nitish Kumar ditched the BJP by calling the party communal," said Shahnawaz Hussain, appealing to the voters to vote for his party during the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. He said, "BJP is the only party that can develop the state".
Refuting the charges of BJP being communal, the party spokesperson asserted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi works for the development of all communities.
Following the attack on the Prime Minister by RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav over the former's recent visit to a mosque in Iraq, Hussain said, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi will go to mosque or church if he is invited."
He added that the Prime Minister was also working to develop educational infrastructure in the state.
Responding to a question on his equation with current Prime Minister Narendra Modi and former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee, he said, "Atal ji is like my father and PM Modi is like my elder brother."
The BJP spokesperson further dismissed a query on whether he was one of the chief ministerial candidate saying, "I am a BJP worker, want to remain a kingmaker. I am not in the race for CM."
