The fake degree dent continued to embarrass the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday with former party leader Rajesh Garg accusing MLA Vishesh Ravi of having a fake degree.
According to Garg, there is discrepancy in affidavits filed by Karol Bagh MLA Vishesh Ravi in 2013 and 2014. While the AAP MLA listed himself as a graduate in 2013, he mentioned in his 2014 affidavit that he had studied only till 10th standard.
The latest fake degree allegation concerning the party comes even as former Delhi law minister Jitender Singh Tomar is already in police custody and has been taken to Faizabad and Bhagalpur for further interrogation.
On Wednesday, Tomar was taken to Faizabad in Uttar Pradesh where he allegedly for his fake B Sc degree from.
The Delhi Police have said that they are investigating the possibility of a bigger fake degree racket in the backdrop of Tomar’s degree row. At least 50 witnesses in Faizabad and Munger are said to have told the Delhi Police that they have fake degrees.
Tomar, MLA from Trinagar in Delhi, has, however, maintained that his degrees are not fake and that he would fight the case on merit. Following his arrest, the AAP leader was remanded to four-day police custody by a Delhi court for allegedly forging his science graduation, law mark sheets and migration certificate. Tomar had resigned as the law minister of Delhi after his arrest.
Investigators said that an FIR was registered and the Law Minister was arrested after nearly a month-long investigation established that the documents he submitted in 2011 to register with the Bar Council of Delhi were fake.
