Rahul taunts Modi, calls scheme to dig out black money 'Fair & Lovely' yojana
"Modi ji had promised that he will put people with black money behind bars, now they have come up with way to save those people," said Rahul.

New Delhi: Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday took potshots at the Narendra Modi government and said that it has launched a 'Fair & Lovely' scheme to convert black money into white.

"The Modi government launched a 'Fair & Lovely' yojana, to convert black money into white. Modi ji had promised that he will put people with black money behind bars, now they have come up with way to save those people," said Rahul in Lok Sabha.

Attacking Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the prise rise, Rahul said, "Before elections, Modi ji said dal is Rs 70/kg and he promised to bring down prices but now it's Rs 200/kg. Today petrol is $35 per barrel, but the rates have not changed much."

Referring to Finance Minister Arun Jaitley's Budget speech on February 29, Rahul said he thought it former finance minister P Chidambaram's speech as it mentioned a lot about Congress's project MGNREGA.

"Modi said MGNREGA is a mistake but Jaitley kept on talking about it. I thought it is P Chidambaram's budget and not Jailey's. Jaitley came to me and said it is the best scheme, but I asked him say the same to his boss (Modi). He shut up after that," said Rahul.

"At least 5 lakh farm ponds and dug wells in rain fed areas and 10 lakh compost pits for production of organic manure will be taken up by making productive use of the allocations under MGNREGA," Jaitley had said while presenting the Union Budget in Parliament.

Taking a jibe at Bharatiya Janata Party, Rahul said partymen should speak in front of Modi. "I know Modi ji is a powerful man. But you should speak in front of him sometimes. Modiji is powerful and I am scared of him," said the Gandhi scion.

Asking Modi to listen to people, his ministers, MPs, Rahul targetted the Prime Minister by saying, "The Prime Minister cannot run the country on his opinion. The Prime Minister is not the country and the country is not the Prime Minister."

Rahul even questioned as to why Modi did not say anything when JNU students, teachers and media persons were attacked at Patiala House Court.
