221. Sailana is a state Assembly/Vidhan Sabha constituency in the state of Madhya Pradesh and is part of Ratlam (ST) Lok Sabha/Parliamentary constituency. Sailana falls in Ratlam district and Malwa North region of Madhya Pradesh. It is categorized as a rural seat.
There are a total of 1,84,854 voters in the seat, which includes 91,797 male voters, and 93,052 female voters. In the 2018 Madhya Pradesh elections, Sailana recorded a voter turnout of 88.35%. In 2013 the turnout was 83.62%, and in 2008 it was 80.2%.
In 2013, Sangeeta Vijay Charel of BJP won the seat by a margin of 2,079 votes (1.46%). Sangeeta Vijay Charel secured 33.41% of the total votes polled.
