New Delhi: In Madhya Pradesh, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has been elected leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Legislative Party on Wednesday.

He is scheduled to take oath of office for the second time on December 12.

The BJP Legislature Party is meeting in Bhopal to complete the formality of naming Chouhan as the new chief minister.

Senior leader M Venkaiah Naidu and Ananth Kumar will represent the Central unit of the party in the meeting.

Earlier on Monday, BJP swept back to power in retaining Madhya Pradesh winning 143 seats in the 230-member Assembly.

After winning the Assembly elections in the, Chouhan has chalked out his priorities which include empowerment of women through various government schemes, governance aimed at the weaker sections, and improving health, education and the internal security situation in the state.
