New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday alleged that the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party had struck a deal on the investigations into the snoopgate scandal. "The Congress party owes an explanation to the country on why it did not implement the union cabinet's decision of December 26, 2013, to set-up a commission of inquiry to probe the alleged snooping of a young woman by the Narendra Modi's Gujarat government in 2009," the AAP said.
The party said that Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi had tried to score "brownie points" on Sunday by hitting out at the Modi government over the scandal.
"The Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi on Sunday tried to score brownie points in the election season without being aware of the facts that his party's central government did not even bother to appoint a judge for more than three months after announcing the inquiry commission. The behaviour of Mr (Sushil Kumar) Shinde and Mr (Kapil) Sibal gives rise to the suspicion that the Congress party had struck a deal with the BJP on the issue," the party added.
