Chandigarh: United Progressive Alliance (UPA) chairperson and Congress president Sonia Gandhi will address a public rally at Sirsa town in Haryana February 25 to mark the completion of two years of the Bhupinder Singh Hooda government in the state.
The Nav Yug rally is being organised by the ruling Congress, Chief Minister Hooda said on Monday. He said the rally would highlight the achievements of his government in the last two years.
Sirsa is the stronghold of Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) leader and former chief minister Om Prakash Chautala and the Congress is holding the rally there to gauge its expanding influence in that area.
Hooda said the political culture in Haryana had changed in the last two years. "The change is from the culture of corruption, casteism and criminalisation to that of development, peace, progress. Now development is taking place in all areas at a rapid pace," Hooda said.
