Lucknow: Samajwadi Party finally cracked the whip against errant MLAs suspending three MLAs for anti-party activities.
Among the three MLAs who bore the brunt included Sitapur MLA Mahendra Singh who was caught with sex workers in Goa. Mahendra Singh was caught at a hotel in Goa with six sex workers.
The other two who received the suspension order include Ram Lal Akela and Radhe Shyam Jayaswal who have been accused of land grabbing.
"SP MLAs Mahendra Singh, who represents Sevta constituency in Sitapur district, Radhey Shyam Jaiswal (Sitapur) and Ram Lal Akela (Bachrawah-Raebareli) have been suspended from the party by state party president Akhilesh Yadav", said SP spokesman Rajendra Chowdhury.
Chowdhury said Shailendra Jaiswal, son of SP MLA from Sitapur Sadar seat, Radhey Shyam Jaiswal, and Vikrant Akela, son of party Raebareli MLA Ramlal Akela, were expelled from the party.
While Shailendra's name cropped up in the firing incident in Sitapur yesterday for alleged land grabbing, Vikrant had allegedly got bulldozed a house in Raebareli to grab a piece of land.
"The three MLAs have been suspended for their involvement in anti-party activities", Chowdhury said.
