Ilaiyaraaja’s daughter Bhavatharini died on Thursday. She was 47 and passed away in Sri Lanka. While the family will be bringing her mortal remains to Chennai for the funeral, Kamal Haasan confessed he doesn’t know how to console his brother, Ilaiyaraaja. Taking to X, the actor shared an emotional post mourning Bhavatharini’s death and said he will be by Ilaiyaraaja’s side throughout his difficult times.
In Tamil, Kamal wrote, “My heart aches. I don’t know how to console my beloved brother Ilaiyaraaja. I will hold his hands through this. Bhavatharini’s death cannot be tolerated or accepted. Ilaiyaraaja shouldn’t give up dealing with this huge loss. My heartfelt condolences to Bhavatharini’s family.”

As per a report by Hindustan Times, Bhavatharini travelled from India to Sri Lanka for treatment. Despite undergoing Ayurvedic therapy for five months, her health did not improve, and sadly, she passed away at 5:20 PM on Thursday. Her mortal remains is scheduled to be transported to Chennai today.
At the age of 47, she was a prominent figure in the film industry, contributing her voice to numerous popular songs in over 30 films. Her untimely death has sent shockwaves through the entire entertainment world.
As a versatile artist, she excelled as an actress, playback singer, and music composer. Being the daughter of Ilaiyaraaja, she collaborated with her father and brothers on various film music projects. Despite her significant role in her family’s musical endeavors, her voice remained uniquely distinctive. She received the National Award for Best Female Playback Singer for her performance in a song from Bharathi’s film, where she sang alongside Ilaiyaraaja.
