For many years, rumours have swirled about a potential film based on the life of S Ramadoss, the leader of the PMK (Pattali Makkal Katchi) party. In the latest development, there is speculation that the film could finally go into production soon, although no official confirmations have been made. Here are more details on this news.
According to the rumoured details, the film based on S Ramadoss’s life might be produced by Lyca Productions, one of the biggest production banners in the Tamil film industry. Further information suggests that filmmaker Cheran is set to direct the biographical film. More details regarding the project are expected to be released in the coming days, according to reports. Additionally, there are reports of a documentary film being made on the politician’s life, directed by Sankagiri Rajkumar.
Director Cheran, known for his recent work on the web series titled Cheran’s Journey, which was released on the OTT platform SonyLIV this month, is set to make his OTT debut. The series features a notable cast, including Prasanna, Kalaiyarasan, Divya Bharathi, Aari Arjunan, Kashyap Barbhaya, Jayaprakash, and Sarath Kumar.
On the other hand, Lyca Productions, one of the biggest production houses in the country, is currently engaged in multiple upcoming projects. The list includes films like Indian 2, directed by S Shankar and starring Kamal Haasan in the lead, and Lal Salaam, under the direction of Aishwarya Rajinikanth, featuring Vishnu Vishal, Vikrant, and Rajinikanth in an extended cameo.
Lyca Productions is also producing another film featuring superstar Rajinikanth titled Vettaiyan, directed by TJ Gnanavel. The ensemble cast includes names like Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh, and Dushara Vijayan.
Adding to their diverse lineup is the highly anticipated Malayalam sequel to the 2019 Mohanlal starrer Lucifer, titled L2: Empuraan. Directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, the film also stars Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas, Indrajith Sukumaran, and Sai Kumar in prominent roles.
While the potential biographical film on S Ramadoss adds an intriguing dimension to Lyca Productions’ repertoire, the official confirmation of these developments is eagerly awaited by film enthusiasts in the Tamil cinema scene.
