Prabhas-starrer Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire, the Telugu action film, is now out in the theatres. Directed by Prashanth Neel, the first day of the film saw enthusiastic fans lined up outside cinema halls to watch the film. Given the response, it can be said that Salaar is expected to record an opening day collection of around Rs 48 crore. As the film makes a robust entry at the box office, reports suggesting an update about the film’s OTT release are being circulated. As per the reports, Salaar will have its digital debut on OTT giant Netflix. The OTT release date is yet to be announced by the makers of the film. Netflix is Salaar’s streaming partner for all languages. It will stream on the OTT platform after eight weeks reportedly. Additionally, as far as the film’s satellite partner is concerned, it will be appearing on Star Maa on television.

Earlier, it was reported that the OTT rights for the film have been sold to the streaming platform for a record-shattering price. The makers sold the rights for a whopping Rs 162 crore. With the development, Salaar bags the highest-ever deal for a South Indian project.

Salaar is set in a fictional world and explores the relationship between two best friends, Deva and Vardha, played by Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran respectively. Unexpected events turn the best friends into enemies. Besides Prithviraj Sukumaran and Prabhas, the film also stars Shruti Haasan, Eshwari Rao, Jagapathi Babu, and Sriya Reddy.

Produced by Vijay Kiragandur under the banner of Hombale Films, the film will mark the first collaboration between director Prashanth Neel and pan-India star Prabhas. It has been released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam. Notably, the runtime for the film has been confirmed as 2 hours and 55 minutes and it has been assigned an A certificate by the Central Board Of Film Certification (CFBC). In addition to that, the Telugu government also approved the permission to hold special shows for the film in the state, while also increasing the ticket price for Rs 65 and Rs 100 respectively.
