20 Phones To Work: Why Does Google Chief Sundar Pichai Need These Many Phones?
Sundar Pichai heads Google which makes phones and apps that run on them but what is the reason for using these many phones?

Google makes phones which means the senior executives at the company would be using their competitor’s phones to gauge their performance, design and more. However, Google CEO, Sundar Pichai admitted that he uses more than a couple of phones daily, in fact the actual number might startle you. Speaking in an interview a few years back, Pichai pointed out that he uses 20 phones at a time but the reason for doing that is different.

Pichai leads a company that owns Android which is running on more than 95 percent of devices but he also is responsible for various Google products that run on these phones. So, for him, it is about making sure that all the Google apps like Gmail, Docs, Google Photos work well on phones across all ranges.

He talked about constantly changing and trying out every new phone, which probably comes with the job. Android is a big part of Google’s mobile business across the globe. While Apple gets all the moolah, Android has built a core user base starting from the budget to the premium segment.

Google itself makes the Pixel lineup which is now into its 8 gen model, while Apple is in the 15th iteration of the iPhone. Google’s market share with Pixels isn’t noteworthy but its influence on the market is undeniable and its software approach has given others to sit up and notice. Pichai has been leading Google’s charge in the hardware business which is headed by Rick Osterloh and his team of engineers and designers.

Pichai isn’t the only tech chief to fiddle with more than 2 phones and over the years we have seen Apple and Microsoft execs talk about the one device they use daily, which these days is mostly a foldable phone.
