Apple Says Goodbye To Finewoven Cases After iPhone 16 Series Launch
Apple launched the Finewoven cases with the iPhone 15 series last year but its quality and durability came into question quickly.

Apple has decided to discontinue the FineWoven Cases that were launched last year. The tech giant released the cases as an environment-friendly option for leather cases. Even though the cases were susceptible to dirt and damage, they still came with a USD 59 price tag. The company has now removed the existing FineWoven cases for older iPhone devices from their official retail website. However, FineWoven versions of the MagSafe Wallet and AirTag Key Ring remain available to purchase.

Upon its launch, FineWoven cases received a lot of flak on social media for its poor performance as compared to the previously offered leather cases by the tech giant. Made with 68 percent poly-recycled material, Apple introduced this product to be more environmentally friendly, but the users soon discovered that the cases are easily stained and prone to fraying.

These cases will not be released for the recently launched iPhone 16 lineup, instead, users can purchase Silicone or clear cases for their devices. “Apple cases for the iPhone 16 lineup work seamlessly with Camera Control, featuring a sapphire crystal coupled to a conductive layer that communicates finger movements to the Camera Control,” the company said.

In India, the iPhone 16 Silicone Case with MagSafe costs Rs 4,900 and is available to purchase in different colour options like – Fuchsia, Star Fruit, Lake Green and Ultramarine.

The Apple FineWoven Wallet with MagSafe, on the other hand, is still available to purchase from the official website. It is priced at Rs 5,900 and is available in four different colour ways’ i.e. Blackberry, Deep Blue, Black and Dark Green.

In other news, Apple recently launched a bunch of new products at their Glowtime event. These include the new Apple Watch Series 10, Apple Watch Ultra 2, AirPods 4, AirPods Pro 2, AirPods Max and the much-awaited iPhone 16 lineup. These new iPhone 16 devices will support Apple Intelligence features once the iOS 18 version is released for all users. The update is expected to roll out next week.

In India, the price for iPhone 16 begins at Rs 79,900 for the 128 GB variant, while the 256GB and 512 GB will cost Rs 89,900 and Rs 1,09,900 respectively. The iPhone 16 Plus models, on the other hand, will cost Rs 89,900 for 128 GB, Rs 99,900 for 256 GB and Rs 1,19,900 for 512 GB.Both iPhone 16 and 16 Plus will be available in ultramarine, teal, pink, white and black colour variants.
