The BlackBerry Priv has another highlight to boast of- the return of the QWERTY keyboard, albeit in a slider mode.

New Delhi: BlackBerry is betting its future on the upcoming Priv smartphone- the first BlackBerry smartphone to run Google's Android.

If the Priv fails to entice users, it could be the last phone BlackBerry makes.

Other than running a rival software, the BlackBerry Priv has another highlight to boast of- the return of the QWERTY keyboard, albeit in a slider mode.

While that doesn't mean the phone's touchscreen won't support on-screen typing, but a new YouTube video by the manufacturer shows off the slider keyboard in action, aimed at those who missed the physical keyboard that BlackBerry smartphones boasted of.

Although the phone might seem outdated with a slider design, the internals are rather up to date. The phone comes with a 5.4-inch screen and under its hood is a 1.8GHz processor combined with 3 GB of RAM. It further features an 18 megapixel rear camera and its 32 GB of internal storage is expandable up to 2 TB.

The phone is expected to make its debut by the year's end.
