The US tech giant Google is reportedly developing artificial intelligence-based technology for its web browser, Chrome. On the Chrome Settings page, the “Advanced” (AI) section features a new option named “Context menu tab group.” This option allows users to enable or disable the “Organize tabs” feature.
According to a post on the social media platform X (previously called Twitter), a user named Leopeva64 mentioned that the development of the new settings pane is currently in progress. This settings menu is accessible only to specific testers, and users need to navigate through hidden developer flags to access it.

“Google will add a new section called “Advanced” on the Chrome Settings page, there you can enable/disable the new “Compose” and “Organize Tabs” features, for now the only option that has been added is “Autofill Helper” (Compose),” the user wrote on X.
The X post, spotted by Gadgetsnow, also features a video demonstrating that the new settings section is still in the development phase and far from completion.
The tab organization feature is anticipated to be included in the setting pane currently undergoing testing by Google. In previous instances, this feature was observed in development as part of the Search tab chevron interface.
When this feature is implemented, Chrome users are likely to encounter an “organize tabs” button after opening a specific number of tabs. The button is expected to appear automatically in the settings section, facilitating users by sorting their tabs automatically.
Earlier reports did not specify whether this feature is AI-powered, but if it is part of the AI settings, it is anticipated to be driven by a machine learning algorithm, the report said.
