Samsung is undoubtedly late to the AI party and even then it is going to rely on two popular AI chatbots that will be launched with the Galaxy S24 series phones next year.
Google has already shown its cards with the AI tech powering the Pixel 8 series phones this year, and now the South Korean mobile giant is ready to give its taste to the consumers albeit in a borrowed fashion.
In fact, reports say Samsung will be claiming the Galaxy S24 models to be the smartest AI phones ever, which does feel like a tall claim considering others have already done their AI bit in the market.
Bringing ChatGPT and Bard to the smartphones is fine but it depends how Samsung plans to integrate the AI chatbots, because if it merely wants to add them, the use cases might be similar to how they work on other applications and platforms. Going by Samsung’s previous history with Bixby, its original AI product, you can be hardly surprised to see people having doubts about this supposed AI integration.
Samsung had previously banned its employees from using ChatGPT for work purposes, calling it a security concern if their confidential data leaks on the internet. Now, the same company wants to bring the AI chatbot to its phones for the consumers, which will be an interesting development to track, if it does come to the next flagship phones.
There is no doubt that mobile chipsets are now as powerful as computers and they have the ability to run AI applications, something that we might hear Qualcomm talk about with the launch of its next flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen chip in the coming days. Either way, we can’t wait to see how AI evolves in the mobile space and allows more people to access these features on their smartphone.
