Samsung has announced that both the devices will start shipping from April 21, 2017. The India launch date is yet to be confirmed.

Samsung has introduced the Galaxy S8 and S8+ to the world and the new devices will start shipping from April 21, 2017. Samsung has not announced the date for the India arrival of the phones but looking at the trend Samsung might launch the device in India closer to the shipping date that was announced at the event. As seen in the past Samsung has launched two devices. Let's take a look at what's the difference between the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+.

Display

The Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ both feature what Samsung is calling, an infinity display. This is basically a double-edged screen on the device. The S8 features a 5.8-inch Quad HD+ display with 2960×1440 resolution and 570ppi of pixel density. The S8+ will sport a bigger 6.2-inch Quad HD+ display with 2960×1440 resolution and 529ppi of pixel density. The devices will get Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on both front and the back.

Samsung Galaxy S8: 148.9 x 68.1 x 8.0 mm, Weight: 155g

Samsung Galaxy S8+: 159.5 x 73.4 x 8.1 mm, Weight: 173g

Samsung Galaxy S8: Octa-core (2.3GHz Quad + 1.7GHz Quad), 64 bit, 10 nm processor

Samsung Galaxy S8+: Octa-core (2.35GHz Quad + 1.9GHz Quad), 64 bit, 10 nm processor

Camera

Both the Galaxy S8 and S8+ will sport a Dual Pixel 12MP with OIS and F1.7 aperture rear camera and the front camera will be an 8MP sensor with auto-focus and F1.7 aperture.

Battery

Both the devices will sport fast Charging on wired and wireless devices. The wireless charging will be compatible with WPC and PMA. The Samsung Galaxy S8 will house a 3000mAh battery and the S8+ will come with a bigger 3500 mAh battery.

Sensors

Both the devices will come with Accelerometer, Barometer, Fingerprint Sensor, Gyro Sensor, Geomagnetic Sensor, Hall Sensor, Heart Rate Sensor, Proximity Sensor, RGB Light Sensor, Iris Sensor and Pressure Sensor.

Availability

Samsung has announced that both the devices will start shipping from April 21, 2017. The India launch date is yet to be confirmed.
