Hyderabad-based startup Smartron has launched its first smartphone - the tphone. Sachin Tendulkar is the brand ambassador for the company and according to the company the cricket legend is also a strategic shareholder.
The tphone phone is priced at Rs 22,999. It comes with a 5.5-inch full HD (1920X180 pixels) AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass protection. The phone runs on Android Marshmallow, v 6.0.1 and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor along with 4 GB RAM.
Weighing 149 gm the phone comes in four colours with matte metal finish: Classic Grey, Metallic Pink, Steel Blue and Sunrise Orange. The on-borad storage is 64 GB and it also supports expansion via microSD card.
The phone has a 13 megapixel main camera with dual flash. The front camera is 4 megapixel with 2µm pixels. The tphone comes with a 3000 mAh along with a USB Type-C charger with Quick Charge 2.0 for fast charging.
The phone goes on sale in early June.
Smartron has also recently launched its first ultrabook - tbook - priced at Rs 39,999.
