WhatsApp is now offering a new feature with its latest update and this one is for the Apple iPhone users. With the version 2.18.20 update, WhatsApp is now supported on Apple CarPlay. This brings the third party chat platform in competition with Apple’s own iMessage on the Apple’s automotive platform.
As per an iCulture report, WhatsApp will automatically appear as an app as soon as the user’s iPhone is connected to Apple CarPlay. Following this, the app will work like just another chat based app on CarPlay, adhering to Apple’s strict framework of messaging apps on CarPlay.
Through the integration, Apple iPhone users will be able to see the unread messages on their WhatsApp through a badge icon. In addition, they will be able to use Apple’s voice assistant, Siri, to read their incoming WhatsApp messages out loud. They will also be able to send new messages through dictation to Siri.

As per the report, WhatsApp on Apple CarPlay currently lacks the ability to scroll through a list of message threads, a feature which Apple’s chat platform, iMessage has.
The new update for the WhatsApp CarPlay integration is now available on iOS.
