Xiaomi today launched two variants of its flagship Mi 5 smartphone-- Mi 5s and Mi 5s Plus-- in China, powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processors. The smaller Mi 5s features a 5.15-inch display while the bigger Mi 5s Plus offers a 5.7-inch screen. Both the displays are Full HD.
Xiaomi is offering the Mi 5s smartphone in two variants- 3G RAM/ 64GB ROM and 4G RAM/ 128GB ROM at a price of CNY 1,999 (or approximately Rs 20,000) and CNY 2,299 (or Rs 22,900).
On the other hand, the bigger Mi 5s Plus smartphone will be available in 4GB RAM/ 64GB ROM for CNY 2,299 (or Rs 22,900) and 6GB RAM/ 128GB ROM at CNY 2,599 (or Rs 26,000) options. Both the devices will be available in White, Rose Gold, Silver and Gold colours.
The Mi 5s mounts a 12MP rear camera along with a 4MP front camera while the bigger Mi 5s Plus comes with a dual camera module- 13MP + 13MP- at the back and the same 4MP front camera.
Another interesting feature in the Mi 5s smartphone is an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor integrated with the home button. The fingerprint sensor is covered with glass to make it more durable. On the bigger Mi 5s Plus smartphone, the fingerprint sensor is placed at the back.
Both are 4G smartphones and offer regular connectivity options including NFC.
