New Delhi: Alongside Xiaomi's Mi Pad tablet, the latest Redmi 2 is also available for purchase on Flipkart for a price of Rs 6,999. The company had rolled out these two products in India earlier this month and now you can acquire them under Xiaomi's exclusive partnership with the e-commerce giant.
The new Redmi 2 is available to purchase on Flipkart under flash sale and, therefore, only registered users can buy the phone. Registration for the today's sale is now closed.
The Redmi 2 smartphone features a 4.7-inch (1280x720) IPS display, 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz, 1GB RAM, 8-megapixel rear camera, and a 2-megapixel front camera. The dual-SIM Redmi 2 has an internal storage space of 8GB (expandable up to 32GB).
The phone is available in India in two colours - white and grey.
Xiaomi's Hugo Barra says the company will soon launch a limited edition variant of the Redmi 2 with 16GB flash and 2GB RAM in India.
The new phone, which is thinner and lighter than the Redmi 1S, is said to charge 20 per cent faster than its predecessor. Also, both the SIM slots in the Redmi 2 support 4G network.
The sale coincides with the Flipkart flash sale of Xiaomi's Mi 4 64GB variant. The registration-based phone will be available 5pm onwards and cost Rs 23,999.
