Kanwar Dhillon Shares Details About His Character In Udne Ki Aasha
In Pandya Store, Kanwar's character Shiva, a carefree individual, struck a chord with audiences.

Actor Kanwar Dhillon, recognised for his portrayal of the lively Shiva in family drama series Pandya Store, has made a return to the small screen with a fresh character in Udne Ki Aasha, where he plays a typical Mumbaikar. Set against a Marathi backdrop, the show delves into the emotional journey of a wife and her efforts to transform her reluctant husband into a responsible individual, impacting the entire family. Kanwar Dhillon plays the role of Sachin, a taxi driver, while actress Neha Harsora portrays Sailee, a florist.

In Pandya Store, Kanwar’s depiction of Shiva, a carefree individual with a sharp tongue, struck a chord with audiences. Similarly, his new character in Udne Ki Aasha appears to share some of these traits. However, Kanwar is keen to point out the distinctions.

Despite the immense success of his previous character, the actor is not willing to repeat his roles.

While in conversation with The Times Of India, he explained, “The two characters are very different. While Shiva and Sachin have their outspoken nature in common, Sachin dreams of making it big in life, who goes through his share of struggles and issues. Shiva in Pandya Store had his life dedicated to his family and he lived simply in Somnath. Both the characters have a different backdrop and the premise is very different. I have never wanted to repeat my characters and so I always keep a check on that.”

After concluding his stint in Pandya Store in July 2023, Kanwar was rumoured to be joining the reality show Bigg Boss. He clarified that he was in discussions with the Bigg Boss team, but it didn’t materialise. He also added that the speculations about Alice (Kaushik) and him entering the show as a couple were not true.

Preparing for his role in Udne Ki Aasha, Kanwar admits to working diligently to portray a taxi driver convincingly. He says that he doesn’t feel pressured, but he has put in a lot of effort to understand the life of a taxi driver.

“Taxi drivers know the city and the people really well. I am glad that this role is challenging. The rest I would leave to destiny,” he said.
