Former television actress Sana Khan, who quit showbiz for spiritual reasons, recently appeared on Rubina Dilaik’s podcast Kisi Ne Bataya Nahi. During the conversation, the 36-year-old spoke at length about her transformational journey and shared insights about her marriage and family. She also spoke about embracing the hijab, revealing that her decision stemmed from her desire to attain spiritual peace and connection with her faith.
Talking to Rubina, the former Bigg Boss contestant shared an anecdote from her trip to Maldives. She recalled how many admired her decision to wear an abaya on her trip. “One thing that I saw was with the Muslim crowd, jo ladies Muslim ho yaa modest ladies ho… they would say we earlier felt if you are going to Maldives you have to wear short clothes or swimwear only. Jo celebrities pehan ke dikhate hain… but when we saw your picture we realised we can enjoy at Maldives even wearing Abayas. Then I saw so many families who actually went to Maldives who I knew and they wore Abaya. They shared with me how they told their husbands that Sana wore, so why can’t we?” Sana said.

Sharing that she was overwhelmed by the response, the former actress continued, “I didn’t even think that it could bring this change. I was like main toh abaya hi pehenti hoon yahi pehenke ghoomungi Maldives mein. I literally wore jilbabs, abaya, scarf. My husband and I were playing table tennis were my hijab. Imagine in my hijab I’m going snorkeling. We enjoyed so much there.”

However, not everyone agreed with her choice of outfit on the beaches of the Maldives. Sana revealed that a few also criticised her decision, but she chose not to respond to them and enjoyed her trip to the fullest. “I can’t feel angry on them because they don’t know what they are saying, I let go of these people. They don’t have knowledge about why I have suddenly had this change. I should not feel bad about it,” added Sana.
In the same conversation, Sana shared that she decided to never remove her scarf on her birthday during the COVID-19 pandemic. “When I took the decision of wearing Hijab, my husband didn’t know. In fact, that time, he was not my husband. We were in the process of getting to know each other. I had started wearing scarf during COVID so everyone thought it was because of the pandemic. I remember it was my birthday, and I had called for some scarfs and dusre din se maine pehna shuru kar diya, and that’s when I decided I would never remove it ever again,” added the former actress.
Sharing that her husband, Anas Saiyad has always positively influenced her, Sana continued, “Then I informed Anas that I have taken up Hijab forever. He was like are you sure? Pakka? Tum dekho hosh mein kaam karna josh mein nahi… Aaj pehnogi Kal Utaarogi, soch ke karo. Take your time and understand the importance. I told him I’ve understood well. Anas has been a person in my life who has always highlighted good things. He has positively influenced me.”
