Sumit Nagal will be participating in the men’s tennis singles event at the Paris Olympics 2024. Nagal picked up the tennis racket when he was eight years old. Before joining a local sports club to sharpen his tennis skills, Nagal used to play cricket for 8-10 hours daily but switched after his father’s advice. His motivation behind taking up the sports was his family and country. Apart from tennis, Nagal’s hobbies also include gaming, surfing the internet and hanging out with family and friends.

Sumit Nagal has also represented India in several premier events including the 2018 Asian Games and the 2019 US Open. He even reached the ATP challenger final at the Banja Luka Challenger before losing the championship match to Dutch player Tallon Griekspoor.
Following another poor show at the 2021 Australian Open, Nagal somehow managed to qualify for men’s singles at the Tokyo Olympics. He managed to reach the second round of the competition after beating Denis Istomin before losing to Russian sensation Daniil Medvedev.
